Ian Salter has been a professional business advisor with Benchmark Business Sales & Valuations since late 2005 where he came across from a corporate management position.

In 2010, Ian was responsible for establishing the specialist ‘Franchise Sales Division’ of Benchmark, where he led a sales team up until early 2017.
Being a 100% performance based advisor, Ian is dedicated to producing the best outcome possible for his many clients through hard-earned knowledge, dedication, and professionalism and insistence upon the upholding of professional standards.

As a senior advisor, Ian is generous with his time towards assisting, training, and mentoring others within Benchmark’s ranks.

Over the years Ian has built many professional relationships and actively interacts with a network of professionals such as; Solicitors, Bank Managers, Accountants, Development Managers, Valuation Specialists, State Managers, National Managers, CEO’s, BDO, and FCO’s to not only assist with the process of business acquisitions, but also to stay in touch with industry changes.

Ian’s sales in the early days included many franchised businesses and non-franchised businesses such as; Manufacturing, Transport, Wholesale, Distribution, Commercial Property, and even a Private Island!

Recently Ian has teamed up with fellow colleague and senior advisor (Ian Haggerty) and they are successfully assisting business acquisitions related to; all types of water, recycling, energy, utilities, trenchless technology, and underground services. Ian is happy to speak with Directors/Vendors or Acquirers/Purchasers, and CEO Board members etc. to assist through the process of a 100% purchase, earn-out, or a roll-up.

Ian has been a long time member of the REIQ and the AIBB.

Away from work, Ian enjoys music – (both as a professional musician and music listener). Ian and his family are involved in many sporting pursuits including martial arts, basketball, rugby league. Ian also has a passion for personal health and fitness.
